Hey San Antonio….what do you think of our 13 National team?

Congrats to our 13 National team – Coach Greg, Lily, Annie, McKinsey, Kimberly, Addison, Caroline, Jessica, Kate, Emma, Sam & Lauren.

Your fight and determination was unmatched this weekend in San Antonio!  All 11 players ( and coach) gave everything they had on the courts this weekend and came just 5 spots short of a qualifying bid in their first travel tournament at the Tour of Texas Qualifier.    We are so proud of you all.

Coach Greg truly has an amazing group of players and parents.  The fight, desire, love and bond this team shares is just breath-taking to watch.   Continue working hard ladies…show your opponents what it means to be a Knight.  KVA All the Way!

KVA 14s Take the Tour by Storm in San Antonio

Congrats to both of our 14s teams – 14 National Shellz (1st Place) 14 National Yo (9th place) in the San Antonio Tour of Texas Qualifier this weekend at the Alamo Dome.  Both teams came together and finished first in pool day 1 ready to fight to qualify for the tour day 2.  KVA 14 National Shellz went into Sunday ready to continue their undefeated streak and ended up finishing the day in first place at 12-0, not dropping a single game all weekend, and working their way in to Division I of the Tour.  WAY TO GO GIRLS!

14 National Yo was just as determined and after an early morning win in the first match of day 2 they had a tough loss in match 2 to force them into a play off match, winner takes all (qualifies) with San Antonio Stingers.  KVA dropped a tough game 1, fought back and took game 2, and then rolled over San Antonio Stingers in game 3 finishing 15-10 to take the final spot into the Tour Division II.

I could not be more proud of my 14s teams as they pulled together to support one another all weekend.  Support from both players and parents alike influenced both our teams & gave them the support they needed to succeed and qualify this weekend in San Antonio.  We are truly a family, not just a club of individual teams.  Lets show them how we do it in Dallas, Stop #1 of the Tour in February.

KVA 10 Squared (100) for 2011-2012 Club Season

We have finalized all rosters for the 2011-2012 season. Welcome to our Knights family! <3

We have ended tryouts with 100 KVA members to start our second season. 10 Amazing coaches and 90 phenomenal athletes ages 10-18. Thank you to IAD, parents, players, coaches and KVA supporters that allowed this to be a reality for us this season. KVA All the WAY!

KVA Final OPEN Tryout for ALL Ages tonight at IAD 6-8pm

KVA has finalized 8 teams for the 2011-2012 volleyball club season. We do have a couple of potential spots available if we find qualified players to fill those positions.

14U (1 hitter, 1 setter)
16U ( 1 middle)
18U ( 1 middle, 1 setter)

If you are still looking for a team for the coming season come out to IAD tonight to be evaluated for one of our open positions. Cost is $25 for OPEN tryouts.

KVA adds three 14s teams for 2011-2012 season

KVA has set three 14s teams (2 Travel and 1 Local) for the 2011-2012 season to round out our junior high teams for our second year. We have officially completed 6 teams and cannot wait to finish up tryouts this weekend finalizing 2-3 more high school teams.

Beware club world here come the Knights. Rosters will be updated this week on the site for all 14 & Under teams.

Knights 13 OPEN Tryouts Oct 31st & Nov 1st at IAD form 6-8pm

We have had an amazing turnout this season for our 13s teams for 2011-2012. We do have a couple open spots available for both teams so KVA has opened 2 more tryout dates for players who were unable to attend our tryouts slots this weekend and would like to be considered for a position with the Knights for the coming season.

$25 tryout for a one day tryout.

Knights Volleyball Academy will be fielding up to 9 teams for the 2011-2012 season. We are looking for both National (travel) and Royal (local) teams for all age groups 11U-18U.

The cost for tryouts is $50.00 if pre-registered, $60.00 at the door. It is non-refundable and covers players’ tryout fee for both days. Cash or check only if you are bringing it with you to tryouts. Walk-ins are welcome.

We encourage all players to attend all tryouts for their division. We will make many offers at the first tryout and offers will continue beyond the last tryout.

Middle School Volleyball Scoreboard: Dowell Dominates Denison

So proud of our Dowell girls:  Lulu, Sarah & Grace

Dowell’s volleyball teams looked good against Denison on Thursday night, sweeping their opponents in all six of the matches played.

The Blue “B” team won their set in a steady two games, 25-6 and 25-9. Outstanding players for these three games were Hannah Sweeney for offensive with 9 serves and Maggie Scales for defensive player for her floor coverage and digs and Audrey Broas was the overall player of the game with 3 aces, 2 saves and her overall court coverage.

The Gold “A” team got rallied back and forth for their wins, 25-19 and 25-10. Overall defensive player was Lulu Hancock (Beach10K/Knights 2011-2012) for her 4 saves and 17 digs, outstanding offensive player was Sarah Hodson (Knights 13 National 2010-11) with 3 aces and 1 tip, and Grace Kesler was the all-around player of the set with 10 serves, 2 tips and 2 saves.

The White “C” team closed with quick set, 25-7 and 25-10. Outstanding all-around players for these matches were Brooke Lackey for offensive player with 2 aces, Riley Donohoe for defensive player with a zero error game and Jillian Brusa for overall action with 6 aces, 1 kill and 1 tip. Next set is against the newcomer Prosper on Thursday, September 28th, starting at 5 p.m.
